The #1 Lesson For Artists To Learn From The 2013 Grammy Awards

The #1 most important lesson for artists to takeaway from this years Grammy Awards came from Nate Ruess, the lead singer of the band fun., who won Best New Artist.

Ruess has been writing, recording, gigging, and generally working hard on his craft since 2001 when he formed the band The Format at age 19. The Format eventually morphed into fun., and has continued gradually growing to become what it is today: the winner of Best New Artist.

In case you missed my point there, it took 12 years of hard work to be truly titled a NEW artist.

Brand new, unknown artists should keep this lesson in mind the next time they complain about not being paid enough for a local gig, lose an opportunity because of irresponsibility, or generally put anything but their craft and career as their main focus every single day of their life.
